The only museum of its kind in France, the Museum of Stained Glass, situated 50 metres from the cathedral in one of France’s most remarkable Gothic wine cellars (listed as a historical monument), features collections of ancient and contemporary stained-glass windows, a permanent exhibition explaining the stained-glass windows in the cathedral, and master glaziers’ studios.
An unmissable attraction!
The museum tour includes:
- admission to the Museum of Stained Glass.
- a detailed demonstration of the techniques used to create a glass-and-lead window (cutting the antique glass, assembling the lead rods, painting, and the development of techniques from the Middle Ages to the present day).
- a guided tour of the exhibitions and stained-glass window collections on show in the museum.
